Welcome to the wonderful world of Primary!
Primary covers all classes, from our 2 year olds in Early Years, sometimes shy and unsure, taking their first steps away from mum and dad, to our confident, happy, Secondary-ready 11 year olds in Year 6.
We recognise that each child is unique and all have the potential to succeed and make progress academically, socially and emotionally, whether this is in the classroom, the playground or through our wide-ranging extra-curricular opportunities that include the performing arts, sports, residential trips and community leadership roles.
Primary is organised into four sections. Each of these sections is focused on best meeting the development needs of that age group, with teachers who have an in-depth understanding of how to educate, nurture and assess the progress of the children in their care, ably led by our Heads of Year. Our child-centred philosophy also ensures that there is a smooth transition between each of these stages in the students' learning journeys.

With a strong academic emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills, class teachers ensure our curriculum offers a differentiated, wide and balanced variety of educational opportunities that allow for independence, communication, inquiry, thinking, creativity and challenge. Our Primary specialists support our curriculum, teaching languages (Thai, or Spanish from Year 3), Music, Physical Education and Swimming plus ELS (English Language Support) and SEN (Special Educational Needs - learning support for those children who need that little bit more attention to access learning in the classroom). Primary at Garden is a great start to your child's education.
