Mrs Cathie Walsh – Head of Foundation
Mrs Cathie joined GIS in 2016 with her husband and four children. She started her career as a teacher in the UK in 1998 after completing a PGCE. Since this time she has taught Foundation and Years 1 and 2 children internationally and in the UK. She is passionate about learning in the Early Years and about the importance of finding each child’s passion and creating an exciting play-based curriculum for them to thrive and develop 21st century learning skills. In her spare time she enjoys horse riding, sewing and running.

Ms Aren Aonok – Early Years Teacher
Ms Aren has worked in the field of education for more than 25 years as a Foundation teacher. She joined GIS in 2007 and has taught Reception, Nursery and Early Years. Teaching has always been her passion. She truly loves working with young children as it brings her great joy to see them learn and grow. As well as having a passion for teaching, Ms Aren enjoys watching comedy movies, reading, singing and cooking.
Ms Jane Vincent – Nursery Teacher
Having lived and taught in China for eight years, Ms Jane moved to Thailand in 2008. Ms Jane has been working with Foundation age children in international schools in Asia for 25 years. At GIS she has taught Early Years, Nursery and Reception classes and was for a time Head of Foundation. Ms Jane loves travelling, art, good movies and her three sons. Not necessarily in that order.
Khun Fon – Foundation Teaching Assistant
Prior to working in education, Fon worked at Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital in Sriracha for 11 years; whilst there received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2005. In 2013, she moved to Ban Chang with her family and began work at GIS. Fon currently works in Foundation in Early Years, having also taught in Nursery. She loves working with young children as she has the opportunity to be a positive influence on their development. Away from school, Fon enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
Khun Nat – Foundation Teaching Assistant
K.Nat worked at Harrow International School as a Teaching Assistant before moving to the Bank of Ayudhya in 2009 to work in customer service. In 2012 she moved to GIS and returned to education. She works as a Teaching Assistant in Nursery and has experience of international school curricular. She loves teaching and taking care of children. K.Nat loves to travel and listen to music and always has trips with her family. She loves to explore new places and spend time with her family.
Khun Poy – Foundation Teaching Assistant
K.Poy has been working at GIS for 11 years. She first joined in 2005 where she worked with the Early Years, Nursery and Reception teams. In her spare time K.Poy enjoys watching movies, and regularly goes back to her family home in the north of Thailand to spend time with her daughter.
Ms Elyssa Leventhal – Reception Teacher
Ms Elyssa teaches Reception and joined GIS from Canada. She has a diploma in Early Childhood Studies and a Master’s in Education focusing on early literacy development. Her experience teaching has taken her to Australia, Jamaica and now Thailand. She joined GIS in 2014 and worked as an Early Years teachers for two years before moving to Reception. She believes in the importance of early learning and learning through play, inquiry and exploration of the natural world. In her spare time she volunteers with a local group who help to care, medicate and feed the local soi (street) dogs.
Khun Angun – Foundation Teaching Assistant
Khun Angun first joined Garden International School in 2013, and has been working with the Foundation team for four years. When not working, K.Angun stays active by cycling and taking long walks in the countryside with her pet dog.
Khun Lotus – Early Years Teaching Assistant
K.Lotus studied at Naresuan University and obtained a degree in Thai Traditional Dance at the Faculty of Humanities. She started working at Saint Nicholas School in 2010. After that she taught Thai Dance, Thai Language and Art in America. In 2013, she worked as a Receptionist for a company in Bangkok called: "White Space". Then in 2014, she went to work in Maryvit School for 2 years. After that, she decided she would like to improve her English so came to work at Garden International School.
Khun Poo – Foundation Teaching Assistant
Prior to working in education, K.Poo was a teller in a bank for about 3 years. She graduated from the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Suan Dusit Rajabhat University. K.Poo started working at GIS in March 2017 and currently works in Foundation in Nursery; she was previously a TA in Reception. K.Poo loves working with young children as she has the opportunity to be a positive influence on their development. Away from school, K.Poo enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
