Ms Natacha Clifton – Head of Global Languages
Ms Clifton joined GIS from the UK in 2013, where she worked in Kent for 15 years. As well as holding a PGCE and a Master’s, Ms Clifton is qualified to teach French and Spanish. She has been teaching IB in both languages for over 10 years, along with teaching TOK and CAS. Outside school, Ms Clifton enjoys cooking, snorkeling and cuddling her Thai rescued cats.
Khun Lalita – Thai Director
Khun Lalita joined GIS in 2000. As well as holding a PhD. in Education Administration, Khun Lalita is also a qualified quality assurance inspector for OPEC and Sor Mor Sor. Along with other Thai teachers, Khun Lalita organises Thai cultural events such as Loy Krathong and Songkran celebrations at GIS. She also enjoys reading and travelling.

Khun Renu – Primary Thai Co-ordinator
Khun Renu has been working at GIS since 2009. She holds a B.A. degree in Mass Communication, a B.A. degree in English, a Teaching Profession Graduate Diploma and certificates in Guidance in Elementary Education and Psychology and Learning Methodology. She has been teaching Thai Language and Thai Culture in Primary since 2012. As well as having a passion for teaching, Khun Renu likes reading and enjoys traveling around Thailand and new countries.
Ms Amy Guan – Mandarin teacher
Ms Guan joined GIS from JiLin in China in 2007, and GIS is her first international experience. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from JiLin University. Ms Guan is a keen member of the GIS community who enjoys showcasing her students' talents, whether it is in singing or dancing. Outside school, Ms Guan enjoys spending quality time with her two children, Peter and Zixuan as well as listening to music and cooking.
Khun Gaew – Thai teacher
Khun Gaew joined GIS from Bangkok in 2013. She started in Primary for one year then moved to teach in Secondary. She likes to spend some time with students. She always enjoys learning new things to improve herself. She lives with her husband and three children.
Khun Ruth – Thai Teacher
Khun Ruth joined GIS in May 2004 as a Teacher’s Assistant. Prior to joining GIS she received a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching. At GIS, Khun Ruth has worked from Foundation through to Secondary. Since 2013, she has been a Thai Teacher, firstly in Secondary where she was also Thai Counsellor, and presently in Primary. Away from school, she enjoys reading and music.
Khun Ya – Thai Teacher
Khun Ya joined GIS in 2015. She moved from Songkhla province. Khun Ya has had experience in teaching Thai Language more 15 years. She loves cooking and creating new Thai dishes.
Mr Amuchou Yumnam – Spanish teacher
Mr Amuchou Yumnam holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Culture and Sports as well as a PGCE. He also has additional qualifications in teaching Spanish Language. Prior to GIS, he taught PE in Primary and Secondary, teaching IB Spanish Ab Initio and PYP Spanish for 15 years at an international school in Bangkok. Mr Amuchou has attended numerous professional development programmes, including Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Strokes, National Rescue Award & Emergency First Responder, UK RLSS Course and British Gymnastics Level 1. He feels privileged to be part of the GIS staff and the learning journey of the students he teaches.
Mrs Cecilia Alfaro – Spanish teacher
Mrs Alfaro joined GIS from Zambia in 2005, where she lived with her husband and family for 9 years. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree from the Chilean University of Atacama, Mrs Alfaro is also qualified to teach primary students from Year 3. Mrs Alfaro is a keen member of the school community who always enjoys showcasing her students’ talents, being in singing or dancing. Mrs Alfaro helps with the school productions in Secondary with costumes. Outside school, Mrs Alfaro loves reading and craft.
Khun Nid – Thai Teacher
Khun Nid has more than 17 years’ experience of teaching and has taught at GIS since 2004. She has a B.Ed. majoring in Thai language. She currently teaches Thai language and Thai culture in Primary. Away from teaching, she loves reading, Thai dance, gardening and traveling with her family – they visit a new country every year.
Khun Wan – Thai Teacher
K.Wan returned to GIS in 2017 (she worked here for 5 years previously). She has taught IGCSE First Language Thai, IB Thai A Literature and Thai Language, as well as Thai Culture, and was the Thai university counsellor. Before this she worked at Heathfield International School and Rasami International School in Bangkok. She moved to Ban Chang with her family in 2010 and began work at GIS. She loves working with children. Away from school, K.Wan loves exercise (aerobic dance, zumba dance, body combat and Muay Thai). She enjoys reading Thai novels and enjoys cooking Thai food.
